|Brent Buhler - Managing Director
Brent is a disciplined and energetic finance executive and brings to Cambio years of entrepreneurial achievement and a diverse catalogue of finance experience. Having provided value to many Canadian market sectors - from manufacturers to breweries, from energy service companies to exploration juniors - Brent is comfortable with a wide spectrum of finance problems and solutions.
One of Brent's strengths is the unique ability to build strong relationships with both clients and capital sources, and creatively assess how available resources can be best accessed and utilized to achieve maximum growth. His enthusiasm and creativity is rooted in the love he develops for each and every market segment he serves.
Brent studied business and marketing at Haskayne School of Business (University of Calgary) and religious studies at Capernwray Hall (England), Canadian Theological Seminary (dip.C.S.), Ambrose Seminary (M.A.) and most recently back at the University of Calgary in pursuit of a Ph.D.
Outside of Cambio - Brent is an avid golfer, a competitive squash player, and an ardent footballer.
||John Burdiga – Managing Partner
John has over 20 years of operational and transactional experience in venture backed high-growth companies where he built teams and assisted organizations from early stage to public offerings.
In 2007, John became a major shareholder, manager and Director of Woodrose Corporation (formerly Perfect Fry Corporation), a specialized commercial equipment manufacturer that sold its products to over 63 countries worldwide. In late 2010, John was responsible for the successful negotiation and sale of this company to a multi-national USA Fortune 500 public company.
Since 2008, John has been a licensed mortgage broker with Liberty Mortgage Services Ltd. Liberty was founded in 1996 as a prolific private lender specializing in short term alternative mortgage financing to developers, businesses and individuals throughout Western Canada that has originated over $450 Million in syndicated mortgage financings during that time. In 2012, John became an equity partner in Liberty. He is currently a Director and Officer of WestCan Diversified Mortgage Fund Inc. (a Mortgage Investment Corporation) since 2007.
From 1999-2006, John was Director Business Development for Envoy Capital Management Ltd. and was instrumental in driving growth through private merchant banking, investment and management consultation, and strategic mergers and acquisitions. His background and experience in both the private and public company forum through various directorships and appointments has afforded him tremendous experience in the areas of refinancing, venture capital structure, licensing, business reorganization and strategic planning.
Roger Jewett, CA, - Managing Director, President & CFO
Roger brings to Cambio a rare combination of financial, entrepreneurial, and leadership experience perfectly suited for overseeing Cambio’s North American expansion. For the past 16 years Roger has spearheaded successful, fast growing and profitable companies. As President of Rare Method, a publicly traded interactive marketing firm, Roger grew revenue ten fold over a five-year span; an average annual growth rate of 50 percent. In 2007, Rare Method was ranked the 2nd fastest growing company in Alberta by Alberta Venture Magazine (5th and 23rd in 2006 and 2005) and in 2008 Profit Magazine ranked Rare Method the 93rd fastest growing company.
At Rare Method, Roger initiated dozens of innovative human resources initiatives, including the “Six-minute Meeting” and “Kudos”, an internally developed web-based employee recognition program. In 2008, Rare Method was named one of the top 25 small and medium sized employers in Canada (Queen’s School of Business).
Prior to Rare Method, Roger was the CFO of Resorts of the Canadian Rockies (one of the National Post's 1997 and 1998 50 best-managed companies in Canada). Before that, he was a Manager at Coopers & Lybrand.
A native of Fredericton, NB, Roger graduated with distinction with a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of New Brunswick and earned his Chartered Accountant designation in 1990.
|Scott Larson, Managing Director, Corporate Finance
Scott is well into his second decade of working with Western Canadian companies on strategy, corporate growth, business development, and mergers and acquisitions. He has directly advised in excess of 50 companies on their corporate finance strategies and assisted them through the entire capital raising process; from locating, structuring, facilitating, closing, and ultimately funding the growth capital required to further their businesses. Recent transactions that Scott has been involved with range from $500,000 up to $40,000,000 in size.
Scott manages the entire financing process from engaging a Cambio client through to the structuring and presenting the opportunity to his deep network of capital providers. His knowledge and talent are utilized in presentations to investors, as well as his thorough approach to the legal and funding process. Scott continues to develop and maintain solid relationships with a large number of both debt and equity investors across Canada and the US.
Scott has a Masters of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University. He lives in Vancouver with his wife and two children.

|Gary J. Cochrane, Managing Director, Legal
Currently a partner in Dentons (formerly FMC), Gary is a member of the firm’s Financial Services Practice Section in the Calgary office. Gary assists financial institutions in securing loan transactions and the solicitor side of receivership and reorganization work. He is also involved with general commercial work, including real estate and oil and gas transactions.
Gary is a great counselor in commercial interests, including oil and gas, banking and real estate. Developers seek his insight to provide legal advice in respect to acquisition and development of land and oil and gas reserves. He is a true asset to financial institutions securing loan transactions and to borrowers dealing with financial institutions.
Gary has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Dalhousie University and is a member of the Canadian Bar Association. Gary received his law degree from Dalhousie University, LL.B and was called to the Bar a short year later.
